Scouts - 10½ to 14 years

Jump in and get muddy. Give back and get set. Scouts ignore the butterflies and go for it, and soon so will you.

1st Brussels has two Scout troops;  Phoenix who meet at ISF Vossem-Tervuren on Wednesdays and Griffin who meet at BSB Tervuren on Fridays..

Both troops are mixed and have a varied programme, both indoors and outdoors full of challenge and adventure.

Scouting is about getting OUT and having adventure and we try to spend a lot of our time outdoors or learning skills to help us.

We often work together on weekend camps, expeditions and on an annual summer camp.

In August 2023 we are going to Haarlem Jamborette  in the Netherlands.

We are partnered with Brussels Explorer unit, and also have great links with Waterloo and Central Brussels Groups, GirlGuiding and the other Expat scout groups in Belgium

We like to do our Investitures on a memorable occasion whenever possible.  We couldn't quite manage that on the ice, without causing a hazard, so we invested 10 of our new scouts in the skate collection area, while it wasn't busy. Not only a first for us, but probably for the smiling staff members too. We also officially welcomed a new leader, TJ, to the troop.

Welcome to our new website.

We’ll be using the website to promote ourselves, recruit members and leaders, advertise events, keep you informed of our news and display our photo albums. Keep visiting the website to stay up to date.

The site isn't finished yet... over the summer we'll be adding more material, so by the time we restart in September it should be ready to go!

We hope you like it..

Could you be our intrepid reporter for your section? Keeping your eyes on what's happening, taking a few pictures and letting people see what we are doing?

Reporters can be young people, parents or  leaders. Or you could get together with your scouting friends and decide what you want to say.  Please let us know if you could help by sending us some news once a month.
